The 2009 smart fortwo has been ranked as the most fuel efficient, non-hybrid vehicle in the United States by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2009 Fuel Economy Guide. The guide places the fortwo as fifth overall in the ranking for fuel efficiency. The smart fortwo is sold in the United States by smart USA Distributor LLC, a subsidiary of Penske Automotive Group, Inc..
